Welcome to the Concept Imagery Course

Welcome to the free preview of Concept Imagery from Renewal of Literacy® School.

For example, the young woman in the image above is listening to a story about a cat, and she is imagining the story in full, vivid detail.

Concept imagery goes by the name mental picturing in the Waldorf community. It underlies language comprehension. It used to be assumed that all students had good concept imagery; however, with the proliferation of screen technology, it is no longer the case.

This course is recommended for the following:

  1. Teachers/Homeschool parents in grades K-3
  2. Teachers/Homeschool parents teaching students with comprehension issues

Check out the next lesson to see what can happen when teachers assume students have the ability to make mental pictures (i.e., use concept imagery).
